Inspection, production and evidence of documents kept by Registrar
(1) Any person may, on payment of the fee required to be paid under section 304(1)- (Amended 41 of 1989 s. 3)
(a) inspect-
(i) a copy, in such form as the Registrar considers appropriate, of any document kept by the Registrar; or (Amended 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(ii) the document itself if a copy is unavailable; or (Replaced 17 of 1990 s. 2)
(b) require-
(i) a certificate of the incorporation of any company; (Replaced 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(ii) a certificate of the change of name of any company; (Replaced 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(iii) a copy of or extract from any document kept by the Registrar;
or (Added 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(iv) a copy, in such form as the Registrar considers appropriate, of any information contained in any record kept by the Registrar. (Added 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(2) No process for compelling the production of any document kept by the Registrar shall issue from any court except with the leave of that court, and any such process if issued shall bear thereon a statement that it is issued with the leave of the court.
(3) A copy of or extract from any document kept and registered at the office for the registration of companies, certified to be a true copy by the Registrar (whose official position it shall not be necessary to prove), shall in all legal proceedings be admissible in evidence-

(a) as of equal validity with the original document; and
(b) on its production without further proof, and, until the contrary is proved, the court before which such copy or extract is produced shall presume-
(i) that the document is certified by the Registrar; and
(ii) that the document is a true copy of or extract from the original document. (Amended 79 of 1988 s. 10)
(3A) The Registrar may, on payment of the fee required to be paid under section 304(1), certify any copy of or extract from a document, or any copy of information contained in a record, that is furnished to any person under this section. (Added 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(3B) Anything that is authorized to be certified by the Registrar under this Ordinance or any other Ordinance may be certified by him in such manner as he considers appropriate. (Added 28 of 2003 s. 95)
(4) For the purpose of this section-
(a) a copy of a document, notwithstanding that it is taken from a copy or other reproduction of the original document, shall be treated for all purposes as a copy of the original document; and
(b) a copy of a document includes a copy of part of the document.

(5) In subsection (1), "document" (¤å¥ó) includes information in a form accepted by the Registrar under section 347(1). (Added 28 of 2003 s. 95)
